PiC sponsors the RCN student bus
Released 02/11/2009
To date we have had 2,205 student nurses and HCW’s visiting the
bus, including 453 so far this week in London and the South
East.
The official launch of the bus was on the 10 November and during
that week we went to Canterbury Christchurch University, seeing
more than 200 students.
From Tuesday 1 December the bus is at The University of
Southampton in Southampton and then Buckinghamshire new University,
and then to The Dene on the 3rd December where selected members of
staff will give brief seminars to students based on patient and
treatment types specific to the South East Service.
The bus will finish the first leg of its tour on the 11th
December 2009 at The Conquest Hospital on the South Coast. By this
time the bus driver will have deserved some time off and Christmas
cheer.
The bus will start touring the country again on 11th January
2010, with visits to:
Calverton Hill – 2nd February 2010
Oktree Manor – 17th February 2010
St Johns House – 18th February 2010
The RCN student bus attracted 2,468 visitors in the first part
of the tour. Initially it was thought that around 1000 students
would visit the bus, so this is a fantastic outcome.
We will have access to a data base of all students who have
visited the bus and completed an evaluation form designed to give
feedback on the bus, and opportunities on offer.
