PiC opens a new Medium Secure Unit in Nottinghamshire
Released 21/07/2008
PiC is delighted to announce the opening of Calverton Hill, a
new 64 bedded medium secure psychiatric hospital near Arnold in
Nottinghamshire. Through creative collaboration with architects and
contractors PiC has commissioned a building that sets new standards
for medium secure hospitals.
The space and light of Calverton Hill will ensure a positive
experience for a needy patient group and the four gender specific
wards will provide treatment programmes for men and women with a
range of mental disorders.
The opening of Calverton Hill will allow refurbishment and
upgrading of existing PiC facilities in the Midlands. Calverton
Hill will complete a patient care pathway from medium through low
to supervised community settings.
Fred Sinclair Brown, Group Chief Executive of PiC, said
“Calverton Hill offers an exceptional environment for patient care.
The finished building surpasses our expectations for meeting
patient, staff and stakeholder requirements in a secure
setting”.
“I have every confidence that the clinical programmes delivered
at Calverton Hill will be as exciting and innovative as the
building in which they are being delivered”.
