PiC appoints Medical Director to Calverton Hill

PiC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Pete Snowden as
Medical Director of Calverton Hill near Arnold, Nottinghamshire who
will be starting with PIC on 7 July 2008.
Calverton Hill is the newest hospital in PiC’s portfolio which
opens in July 2008. This purpose built facility, with 64 beds, will
provide specialist treatment services for men and women with mental
illness and personality disorder.
During his career Dr Snowden worked as Clinical Director &
Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in the personality disorder
service at Ashworth Hospital, the high secure hospital in
Merseyside. He has also held a number of senior appointments both
in the independent sector with Priory Hospitals, Capio and Care
Principles and in the NHS where he was Acting Medical Director with
Salford NHS Trust.
Dr Snowden’s past responsibilities include being a Member of The
Home Office Advisory Board on Restricted Patients and Chairman of
the Forensic Faculty, Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has
also written a variety of original articles on forensic psychiatry
as well as being the key speaker on lecture tours of Japan, Russia
and Israel.
On the appointment, Fred Sinclair-Brown, Group Chief Executive,

known and respected clinician and brings with him significant
experience, which will be invaluable in the initial development of
the new service at Calverton Hill.”
