PiC appoints Joy Chamberlain as Group Chief Executive
8 February 2012
Partnerships in Care (PiC), the UK's
largest and leading independent provider of secure hospitals,
announces the appointment of Joy Chamberlain as its new Group Chief
Executive.
Joy has been with PiC since 1998 when she
joined from PriceWaterhouseCoopers. She was appointed to the Board
in 2005, initially as Chief Financial Officer before taking on the
role of Chief Operating Officer in July 2008. Joy was appointed as
Acting Chief Executive in September 2011.
During her time at PiC, Joy has been
responsible for the strategic development of the hospitals and its
operational performance. In this time the company has grown from
600 beds to over 1,200, with staff numbers growing to more than
3,500.
On Joy's appointment she said:
"Since I joined Partnerships in Care in
1998 I have been extremely proud to work for the organisation. The
staff at PiC are second to none and the Company has grown from
strength to strength. The sector has changed significantly over the
last five to ten years - competition, regulation and external
scrutiny have all increased. In addition both patients and
commissioners are looking for more evidence to support decisions
and placements.
"However, I believe that providers who can
evidence high quality services, clinical excellence and positive
outcomes at an affordable price will continue to have a place in
the market. I am confident that, with the experience and expertise
across PiC, we will be one of those providers and I look forward to
ensuring this happens."
Kevin Beeston, Non-Executive Chairman,
said:
"I am very pleased to be able to announce
the appointment of Joy Chamberlain as Group Chief Executive
following a comprehensive search process. She has the experience,
knowledge and leadership capabilities to lead PiC during a period
of market evolution as well as enjoying the support of PiC’s
customers, stakeholders, management and employees. I and the rest
of the Board look forward to working with her in driving forward
PiC's continuing leadership of the sector."
