Mental illness services for women
Women may also have specific and individual needs. We have
several units that specialise in treating and rehabilitating women suffering from
mental illness or personality disorders, or a combination of both. Common diagnoses
include borderline personality disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder
and attachment difficulties stemming from childhood traumas.
PiC invests heavily in developing a range of in-patient facilities for women-only
including medium-secure; enhanced low-secure; low-secure; and step-down services.
In 2008 we will add another dimension to our care pathway providing enhanced services
for women in a medium secure setting. For further information on our facilities
that offer personality disorder or learning disability services, please refer to
these pages.
