Training for Management of Violence & Aggression
PiC provides recognised training in the safe and therapeutic Management of Violence
and Aggression (MVA) for all our staff who work directly with patients. We also
deliver regular training to those working in the NHS and other services.
We have more than 15 years experience of providing specialist training in the management of violent incidents. We facilitate and oversee recognised General Services Association (GSA) tutor training. This is one of the specific areas of care where we are viewed nationally as a centre of excellence. PiC regularly provides training across the UK, including the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. Our commitment is to disseminate and promote best practice within this specialist field.
All our facilitation tutors are GSA qualified. They have each gained clinical credibility and significant experience within their particular specialist field enhanced by attending recognised annual updates, conferences and workshops to support their continual professional development. In line with this, all tutors and courses conform to up-to-date best practice guidance initiatives and national minimum standards criteria.
A total of 21 courses were provided by PiC during 2007, with a total of 227 people receiving training on the 3-week tutor course and the 3-day refresher course. To evaluate the effectiveness of this training we asked for delegate feedback and 90% confirmed they were extremely satisfied with the course with 10% very satisfied. Please read below some of the comments received.
