The Spinney

Provides Mental Illness and Personality Disorder services (men only)

The Spinney offers treatment and care for male patients with acute, severe and enduring mental disorders whose behaviours require the level of support not readily available in mainstream services. The environment consists of purpose built medium secure wards and rehabilitation units within a secure environment, which allows the patient a care pathway from admission through to supported and semi-independent living areas in preparation for their discharge.

The Spinney is set in an 11 acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas. Facilities include a fully equipped gymnasium, education room, art and pottery workshops, health and fitness suite, computer suites and swimming pool.

Patient groups

- Men with mental illness or personality disorders
- Specialist ward for men aged 18 to 25 years
- Registered to accept people detained under the Mental Health Act
