Biographies

Doreen McCollin, RMN RGN MA DMS, DipMgmt MIHSM MIoD FRSH
Regional Executive Director

Doreen joined Partnerships in Care as Regional Executive Director in August 2000. Her previous experience includes the project management and commissioning of several medium secure units in south and east London.

Actively involved in several initiatives past and present, Doreen is currently a member of the educational board for the British Journal of Forensic Practice and a member of the RCN Forensic Nursing Forum.

Doreen has an MA in Health studies alongside qualifications in Management and Performance Coaching.


Dr Barron
Medical Director

Dr Barron graduated in Medicine from the University of Leicester. He undertook his basic training in psychiatry in the West Midlands and the North-East of England and subsequently completed higher training in the Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities at Guys Hospital and the Bethlem and Maudsley Trust. Both during this training and subsequently his particular area of interest has been the interface between the criminal justice system and mental health services. He has published several peer-reviewed research papers on subjects relating to mentally disordered offenders and in 2005 gained an LLM Degree in Mental Health Law. He has specialised in secure services for women in the past 4-5 years and will be leading the imminent development of services for women with learning and developmental disabilities in PiC South-East.

Keith Russell
Clinical Services Director

Keith qualified a as RMN in 1990 and has worked extensively in inner city and medium secure mental health services. He has significant experience as a Senior Nurse and was lead for Mental Health Nursing in 2 large Teaching Hospitals. Keith gained a Ba(Hons) in Health Service Management from Westminster University in 1999 and has considerable experience as a Senior Manager working in integrated Mental Health Services. In January 2002 Keith left his post as Acting Locality Director to have a career break and travel. On return he worked as an agency nurse and did much of this work was at The Dene. He took up his current post with us in December 2007.
