We don't work like most psychiatric services, and that's what has made us so successful. Unlike many others, we don't have a 'pick-up-put-down' approach to people, so our patients aren't constantly referred from one person to another.
The difference is, here at Partnerships in Care, you can see an entire case through from start to finish. You'll be able to watch your patient's progress, and then take pride when your hard work returns them to the real world, with a real life. What's more, you'll have all the freedom and flexibility you need to develop your own ideas - strategies that will form new and effective care pathways. So, whether you're down in Brighton or all the way up in York, when it comes to giving our patients a fresh start, you'll be with them for as long as they're with us. An approach that benefits careers, as well as the patients they help.
Our Psychiatrists come to us with a passion for people with mental health issues, they usually have a depth of knowledge gained working with patients detained under the Mental Health Act, an understanding and experience of the application of current practice in the area of patient intervention. Whether our candidates come to us with experience with specific patient groups; male, female, personality disorder, substance or drug abuse, a desire to work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop interventions and care pathways for patients is clearly evident, and fundamental to success.
Our Psychiatrists have a CST in forensic or adult psychiatry and Section 12 approval and experience working in forensic, adult, rehabilitation or LD psychiatry. They usually take on RMO responsibility for a group of detained patients. In addition to clinical and legal responsibilities for their care, they engage with Clinical Governance programmes and are active in multidisciplinary CPD programmes.
