The Dene

Provides Mental Illness, Personality Disorder and/or  Learning Disability services for men and women

The Dene provides medium and low secure level assessment and therapeutic programmes for men and women with mental illness, personality disorders and/or mild learning disabilities.

The service admits patients who, by the nature of their mental disorder and risk behaviours, are deemed to require care and treatment either in the medium or low secure services provided by The Dene.

The hospital is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. There are extensive educational, occupational and sporting facilities, the latter including: a sports hall, a tennis court and a gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. Creative activities are available in a purpose built art room and workshop, and patients have use of two practice kitchens. There is also a patient library which enables the patients to participate in a basic skills programme with the education team.
