Jacqui Ritchie
Director of Nursing

Jacqui has been in the mental health profession for almost 30 years with a wealth of experience & knowledge in the NHS before joining PiC in February 2010. She is a strong clinician with a background working in various mental health settings such as adult acute psychiatry, rehabilitation/respite care, transcultural unit, low secure facilities, PICU, adolescent services and older people services.

Whilst with Buckinghamshire Mental Health Service NHS Trust, Jacqui was voted Psychiatric Nurse of the Year in 2002 and further testimony was her voluntary work as a counsellor for Rape Crisis which enabled her to recognise the benefits of working therapeutically with patients.

One of the significant points in Jacqui’s career was becoming a Modern Matron in Tower Hamlets, without doubt one of the most challenging areas demographically within the UK. Jacqui was involved in the commissioning of a gender specific service for males and females who required PICU/Low Secure Services serving the three boroughs within East London Foundation NHS Trust. This platform provided Jacqui the opportunity to develop solid management & leadership skills but also to work collaboratively with services users. This led to becoming a member of a charitable organisation known as Friend of St. Clements, a group of ex-mental health service users working in the East End of London.

Jacqui joined PiC last year taking up the position of Director of Nursing. Her role is instrumental to empowering the nursing group and maximising the patients experience.
