Pelham Woods, in the South East, provides care to meet the
rehabilitative and ongoing needs of women with complex mental
health problems and a history of challenging behaviour in a locked
rehabilitation environment.
The hospital is set in 4.9 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside
with expanses of lawn and terraces. It occupies an elevated
position just under one mile from Dorking town centre and enjoys
outstanding views to Box Hill and Ranmore Common. There are various
communal recreation areas within the facility. Creative activities
are available in a purpose-built art room/workshop. Patients also
have use of a practice kitchen.
Patient groups
Care and treatment is aimed at women who have a diagnosis of
personality disorder, mental illness or mild learning disability
and who may have substance misuse problems, a history of trauma or
offending behaviour or a combination of these difficulties.
