Oaktree Manor
Provides Learning Disability services (men and women)
Oaktree Manor has grown from strength to
strength and now retains the respect in the market for men and
women with learning disability. Offering specific programmes for
patients with Learning Disability/Personality Disorder, Forensic
Histories, Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
Oaktree Manor’s treatment programmes are based
on the philosophy that learning is a life long experience and a
commitment to offer every individual the chance to reach their own
goals and ambitions by embracing the Recovery star approach.
As well as ward based programmes there is a
vibrant social skills centre on site (The Oaktree Centre). We are
delighted that the Oaktree Centre has attained validation as an
Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN)
centre.
The ASDAN award highlights Oaktree’s
structured training format that delivers learning at the students
pace through activities and the process of doing. The modular
programme embraces a recovery pathway that moves the participant
towards independence and supported or voluntary employment. Their
achievement is validated by a Bronze, Silver and Gold award system
which is equivalent of GCSE and NVQ rates acceptable for college
entry level.
All wards are small (8 beds), gender specific
and purpose built, Each one uniquely specialises in a specific
patient cohort (such as ASC). The aim is to provide a homely,
yet therapeutic environment where patients can learn the skills
they require to move through their care pathway to a sustainable
discharge. A full multidisciplinary team works to the wards.
