Christina Walsh
Regional Executive Director
Christina has been a Registered Nurse since 1990, and has worked
in the independent care sector since 1993. These services have
covered a variety of patient groups including younger adults,
dementia, elderly and mental health services. Throughout her career
Christina has worked in various roles and experiences within the
independent sector. She has been in Senior Management roles since
1996. She is an experienced Unit Manager and Regional Manager, who
has vast experience of managing services to ensure high standards
of care are developed, maintained and that the service continually
evolves in order to meet the changing needs of the patients. She
has been a registered Manager with Health Authority, National Care
Standards Commission and Commission for Social Care Inspection as
well as Registered Responsible Individual for large portfolio of
care services. Christina has also completed a large number of post
registration courses including the Registered Managers Award.
Christina started with PiC in November 2007, after moving from
Bupa in order to expand her knowledge & experience in Brain
Injury Services to help grow and develop the existing services in
Essex & Northampton.
Dr Anjum Bashir, MBBS, MCPS(Psych), MRCPsych
Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Responsible Clinician
Dr Anjum Bashir has been a consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Brain
Injury Services in patient facilities at Elm Park in Essex and
Grafton Manor in Northampton for over a decade. He is dual trained
and also practices as a Child and Family Psychiatrist in Essex and
London.
His special interests have included Delusions in Psychosis,
Psychomotor Development, Dissociative states, Cultural
understanding of Brain injury presentations, Domestic Violence and
Epidemiology of Mental handicap. He is an honorary senior lecturer
at University College London.
Steven Hockaday, MSc, RNLD, RCNT
Unit Manager
The Registered Manager and Unit Manager of Elm Park, Steven has
been a Registered Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities since
1972 having experience within a wide range of health, community and
social care settings. Having worked initially with adults who
challenge service provision and then some years working as a
Community Learning Disability Nurse, Clinical Nurse Teacher and
Clinical Nurse Specialist for people with learning disabilities and
sensory/communication difficulties. In January 2004 Steven was
instrumental in setting up and establishing the low secure service
for adults with learning disabilities at Oaktree Manor in Tendring
Essex. Steven became the Unit Manager for Elm Park in March
2009.
